An Oregon teacher Andrea Baber was arrested by the police officers for having intimate relations with her 15-year-old student. She is currently facing a number of sex crime charges, People Magazine reports.
On December 12, 2016, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received a warning about Baber being involved in a sexual relationship with a student. Their relationship was reported to be ongoing. Baber was also charged with providing the teen with marijuana and alcohol.
The alleged victim’s father told investigators that he had received an anonymous email informing him about his son and the teacher being in a relationship. The email had attachments of several photos showing the teacher in bed with the victim. The crime became public only after the teacher’s husband caught his wife in bed with the boy.
Baber was an English language instructor at Logos Christian Academy in her hometown Springfield. According to her professional biography report, she specializes in teaching language and literature, as well as writing and speaking communication skills. In the report, Andrea has stated that she has always enjoyed being a teacher, working with the youth and has been thankful to God for giving her the opportunity of being a part of the Logos team. She lives with her husband, their dog and the cat in the south part of Eugene.
Baber was charged with several criminal articles, such as third-degree rape, sodomy, being in sexual relations with a minor, online sexual corruption of a minor and unlawful delivery of drugs to a person under 18 years of age. She was arrested at her home in Curtin last week. It is still unclear if she has an attorney or not.
