59-year-old Marcus Sewell McCall from Greenville, South Carolina, was arrested for allegedly administering a “date drug” into a woman’s wine and then sexually assaulting her.
The report was filed by a woman who says McCall gave her some wine in the time period of October 8 to October 11, after which she was "disoriented and felt herself going in and out of consciousness." When she came to her senses, she realized that she had been sexually assaulted. The identity of the woman has not been revealed.
The incident was reported on October 25, McCall was charged with first-degree criminal sexual assault.
According to the authorities, McCall was going on dates with women, offering them wine, drugging them, and once the victims were falling under the influence, he would have sexual intercourse with them.
McCall was arrested on Tuesday and held at the Greenville County Detention Center. McCall’s bond was set at $50,000. He was released from the Detention center after paying the sum.
McCall is a successful businessman in the local area. According to his LinkedIn profile, McCall’s assets are worth $150 million. His company owns Magnolia Point, Enclave Fairview and Enclave Grandview, and has recently also acquired additional properties near Cherrydale and Paris Mountain for further development.
