Two suspects driving a Ford Bronco robbed a vehicle near Win-River Casino on Thursday. They later returned to the crime scene and got arrested by the deputy who was investigating the robbery. The deputy reviewed the footage and determined that the driver matched the description of one of the suspects. The driver was identified as Shawn Lee Cunningham and his passenger as Ashley Marie Haugen, both from Klamath Falls, Oregon.
Both Shawn Lee Cunningham and Ashley Marie Haugen had prior records. When Cunningham was arrested, Haugen was still asleep, when she was awaken by the deputies she showed signs of being under the influence of drugs. She even tried to reach her purse multiple times, deputies ordered her to get out of the car. That's when she told them she had a loaded gun in her purse and may even have a warrant for her arrest in Oregon.
Haugen was carrying a .357 revolver, deputies also found two more stolen firearms with serial numbers scratched off, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, heroin, methamphetamine, a digital scale, syringes, plastic bags, pounds of marijuana, and various items of stolen property related to a residential burglary.
Cunningham was booked on multiple charges – felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a stolen loaded firearm, unlawful possession of a controlled substance while armed with a firearm, transportation, sale or distribution of a controlled substance.
Haugen was booked for carrying a loaded firearm in public, carrying a stolen loaded firearm, and transportation, sale or distribution of a controlled substance.
