Texas man Davie Dauzat admitted to the crime of decapitating his 21-year-old wife Natasha Dauzat and storing her head in the freezer. The court pleaded him guilty to manslaughter, Dauzat was sent to prison for 52 years.
On August 25, 2016, Davie’s brother called the police and asked the officers to check on his brother. According to the brother, his last conversation with Davie was strange and unusual. Police rushed to Davie’s house in Bellmead, Texas, but he refused to come out and talk to them. After a while, police officers managed to get into the house and find the couple’s two children safe but covered in their mother’s blood. They had earlier witnessed their father murdering their mother. Her body was found at home, bearing multiple injuries.
Davie admitted that killing his wife was a mistake and told the officers that he was under the effect of drugs. Medical investigation revealed he had been smoking marijuana with his wife earlier that day. The couple had been married for 2 years and they were celebrating their anniversary in their mobile home that day.
Joseph Marcee, Dauzat’s defense attorney, told Waco Tribune-Herald that this was a tragedy and it involved everyone in the case. He also commented on the dangerous role drugs can play in the society.
Dauzat took responsibility for his actions and will have to spend the next 26 years in prison before he is eligible for parole.
