Goochland County Sheriff Office in Virginia released news about a missing person Bethany Lynn Stephens. As reported earlier, Stephens left the house with her two dogs and headed for a walk in the woods. She has not returned or been seen after that.
According to Washington Post, Stephen’s body was found by her father on Thursday evening in a wooded area, about a mile away from the main highway. When found, her destroyed body was surrounded by her two pitbulls, guarding it like it was an animal carcass. Stephens had defensive wounds on her both hands, chest, and face. The police officers believe that she tried to keep her dogs away from her when she was still alive.
After the investigation, the tiny (5-ft-1) young woman Bethany Stephans was announced dead. Based on the official statement, she was mauled to death by her dogs during her walk out this week. The medical examination proved that the bites could not have been done by a wild animal, like a bear or coyote. The investigation also revealed that the size of the animal that attacked the woman could not be big.
Sheriff James Agnew told the news that in his 40 years of experience he had never come across a situation like this. “Four deputy sheriffs and me witnessed the dogs eating the ribcage on the body dark in the night. We believe that the dogs have something to do with this. It was a horrible mauling,” he said.
The investigation of her death is still in process.
