Vintage mugshots give us the extraordinary opportunity to look back and see how things have changed over the years. In this collection of vintage mugshots of women, you can let your imagination go a little wild. On the more serious side, these are real mugshots of women with real stories. Women were arrested and sentenced on a daily basis, sometimes even without sufficient evidence. Let’s have a look:
1. Jane Fonda
On November 2, 1970, police arrested Jane Fonda in Cleveland, Ohio. She was charged with an attempt to smuggle pills through the local airport.
2. A hot model to be
This woman seems to be an expert in the modeling industry of the time. She knows how to make love to the camera and takes the entire process seriously. And not every family had a camera back then. Having a camera was considered a luxury, and most families waited for a family member to die to have a family portrait. Similarly, a lot of criminals waited to get into trouble to get their pictures taken. It seems like this woman had all her poses planned for that lucky day.
3. A woman in “Fashion”
The outfit this woman is wearing truly deserves our admiration. She could be a school teacher or a local secretary or someone’s mother. Surprisingly, she was allowed to wear a hat in her mugshot, although today you can’t even wear your glasses. But, of course, the beauty of a woman is not always what she wears, it’s sometimes the posture she carries and the way she combs her hair.
4. Hat tricks
This woman wears a hat in the frontal photo, but not in the profile picture. Unfortunately, this mugshot does not contain any information on the type of crime she committed. Maybe it’s for the better for us not to know.
5. Eyebrows in 1967
Here is a naughty girl who is very serious about her eyebrows. This is the first generation to keep their eyebrows on fleek. If you pay attention to her hair, it seems she spent hours on having her hair done in a glorious way. She is prepared to be taken into custody.
Women, women, women. They are mysterious and beautiful wherever they go and whatever they do, even if that means having to take a mugshot right after. This was the first part of our series, come back later for more.
