Two students were killed and seventeen injured in the shooting at Marshall County High School in Benton, a small city in western Kentucky. The Kentucky Board of Education confirmed that the victims were high school students. A 15 year-old-girl died at the scene and a boy, of the same age, died later at the hospital because he was shot in the head. Five of the wounded students were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
